· Runs a central service desk (with physical help desk presence in B2 of St Mary’s Road and in the Library in Paragon) where staff and students can get help with any IT-related query;
· Provides and supports approximately 1300 open-access PC and Apple Mac workstations across three sites;
· Provides and supports IT and audio-visual equipment used for teaching in theatres and classrooms;
· Provides and supports PC and Apple Mac workstations and laptops for staff;
· Supports and develops the university’s key business applications and data;
· Provides and supports the infrastructure supporting the IT needs of the university, including the data network, the wireless network, connectivity to the Internet, the telephone system, the networked-storage, and all the back-end systems and data centres;
· Undertakes procurement of all IT-related equipment and software for the university;
· Manages the creation, authorisation and expiry of user accounts;
· Implements and manages the physical and logical security of information and data;
· Helps support the Schools, the other central service departments and the university as a whole, in the delivery of its strategic objectives.
