You asked , We did ​2015-2016

You asked
to use a single log-in on all Apple Mac computers - now you can use your standard IT user log-in details on Apple Macs in all open-access areas and in the Film, Design and Media specialist teaching labs.

 

You asked for more lectures to be available on UWL Replay  - We  have enabled UWL Replay in over 50% of teaching spaces

You asked for more PCs in the social space on the second floor of Paragon House - We introduced 30 additional PCs in the social space and made the existing PCs faster.

 

You asked to be able to borrow laptops for assistive technology. - We have provided 12 laptops for loan from the Lap Safe on the second floor in the library.

 

You asked for more group study spaces where you can connect your laptops to screens - we added four more group study spaces –in the Paul Hamlyn library and at Fountain House, Reading


You asked , We listened ​2014-2015​

You asked: for the login to be standardised across all Apple Mac computers

We listened:  This summer we made it possible for you to use your standard IT user name and password to login to Apple Macs in the open access areas, and in Film, Design and Media specialist teaching labs.

 

You asked: for better quality projection facilities in classrooms

We listened:  as part of our rolling classroom audio visual refresh plan we’ve upgraded 24 teaching classroom this summer across all sites.

 

You asked: for face-to-face IT Support.

We listened:  You can find our IT support staff in the Library, the social space on the second floor of Paragon House or roving around campus. We also have an IT Support Engineer at Fountain House every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. All our support staff are easy to identify in their blue t-shirts/fleeces.

 

You asked: for more lectures to be made available on UWL Replay

We listened:  We have enabled UWL Replay in over 50% of teaching spaces

 

You asked: for more PCs in the social space on the second floor of Paragon House.

We listened:  We introduced 30 additional PCs in the social space and made the existing PCs faster.

 

You asked: for loan laptops for assistive technology

We listened:  We have provided 12 laptops with specialist assistive software which can be borrowed from the Lap Safe on the second floor of the Paul Hamlyn Library.

 

You asked: for more group study spaces where you can connect your laptops to screens

We listened:  We have added two more group study spaces to the Paul Hamlyn Library, making 6 in total, and a further two at Fountain House, Reading.​
